SQUIRE
MERIT RECOGNITION PROGRAM

Program Requirements)

Badges
are earned by reciting the required part from memory to the Manor and
are awarded immediately. The Reverence Badge must be earned first. The
other badges may be earned in any order. Stars are earned as listed
below and awarded at the end of each term . Except for the Reverence stars,
they may be earned in any order. Each requirement may only be awarded
once. Special awards may be presented upon approval of the Manor and Advisory
Council, represented by a Gold Merit Star. Badges are worn on Squire Sashes
during Business meetings and formal events.
REVERENCE PATCH:
Squires Promise (from opening)
STARS:
- First-line signer for
1 new member (awarded for inducted Squires)
- First-line signer for
3 new members
- First-line signer for
5 new members
- Recite Squire Obligation
(from induction)
- Make the call to reverence
before a 9 oclock Interpolation at a public event.
TRUTH PATCH:
Senior Squires Opening & Closing
STARS:
- Work at two Manor, DeMolay
or Masonic service or charity projects
- Work at two Manor fundraising
projects
- Work at four fraternal
service or fundraising projects
- Have a letter from your
religious leader stating that you have attended regularly for one
year
- Propose, plan, and host
a Service project
WISDOM PATCH:
Junior Squires Opening & Closing
STARS:
- Complete one school year
with 2 absenses or less
- Report card with all grades
C or higher for one grading period
- Report card with grades
B or higher for one grading period
- Report card with all
As for one grading period
- Write an article on a
famous DeMolay or Mason, submit for publication or read to Manor
JUSTICE PATCH:
Master Squires Opening & Closing
STARS:
- Attend business meetings
with no more than two absences in a term.
- Attend business meetings
and special events with no more than two absences in a term.
- Attend meetings and events
with no more than two absences per term for one year.
- Be elected to and serve
a complete term as Master Squire, Senior Squire, or Junior Squire.
- Do a presentation about
Squires & DeMolay to Lodge, Chapter, Assembly or other group
